What is East Leake Personal Training?

East Leake Personal Training is a small, studio-based personal training and fitness consultancy service.  I provide high-quality sports-specific training and rapid fat loss advice at an affordable price.

Who are you?

My name is Chris Beardsley and I’m an ex-competitive swimmer, a former rugby player, an indoor rowing enthusiast, cycle tourer, long-distance walking fanatic, rock climber and powerlifter.  If you’re interested, you can read more about me here.

What do you mean by a studio?

It’s a small but perfectly formed, private facility.  It’s not a huge, sprawling multi-tier building with rows of treadmills and recumbent bikes for you to fight over with other people.

It only has the essential items that you need to make real, significant improvements to your physique and your fitness: a rack, barbell and dumbbells, weights, kettlebells, resistance bands, a spinning bike, a Concept 2 rowing machine and a mat for doing floor work on.

What do you mean by high quality?

There is a world of difference between the quality of the bespoke training that I offer and the one-size fits all methods that the average chain-gym personal trainer, fresh out of school, uses.

What do other people say about you?

Generally, very nice things.  Recently, I had a great email from Martyn, a client who first got in touch in late 2011, saying how much better he felt since working with me.  I asked him to do a testimonial for me and he wrote:

I am a 31-year old dad with two small children who keep me busy whenever I’m at home.  Unfortunately, I had a couple of climbing injuries when I was younger and my ankle and shoulder are very stiff and sore occasionally.  Added to that, sitting down all day at my desk job isn’t very good for my posture and the combination of the two has given me a lot of back and knee pain.

Chris worked with me on exercises that didn’t hurt my ankle and shoulder and which quickly sorted my posture out. Within a couple of weeks, I felt 2 inches taller and people were complimenting me on how good I looked!  What’s more, bending down to pick up the kids feels a lot more natural now.  Things that used to be an effort are much easier to do.

What do you mean by affordable?

My standard rate is £20 per hour but if you have a friend you enjoy training with and you have similar goals, I am happy to train two people at the same time for £30 in total (£15 each).

And don’t forget that East Leake Personal Training operates out of its own private studio and therefore you don’t need to be a member of a gym to use it.
